{"id":33305,"date":"2025-11-04T21:00:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T21:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/33305\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T21:00:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T21:00:07","slug":"port-st-lucie-city-leaders-to-vote-on-pro-soccer-stadium-proposal-big-105-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/33305\/","title":{"rendered":"Port St. Lucie City Leaders To Vote On Pro Soccer Stadium Proposal | BIG 105.9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s a special meeting this evening in Port St. Lucie, where the City Council will vote on a new soccer stadium.  <\/p>\n<p>The city is facing pushback from residents with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/vote-no-on-ordinance-25-67-fix-us-1-traffic-don-t-commit-27-5-million-to-a-private-psl?source_location=local_page&amp;pt=AVBldGl0aW9uANKKQR0AAAAAaPD%2BdXRvzDZiYzkyY2MzNA%3D%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Change.org<\/a> petition against the plan bringing over 2-thousand signatures so far.  <\/p>\n<p>The stadium for a United Soccer League franchise is part of a 46-acre project that includes restaurants, shops and housing, and which would cost taxpayers upwards of $27 million.  <\/p>\n<p>City leaders plan to show residents how the stadium would bring more jobs and tourism revenue to the area.  But many call it ill-timed and fiscally misguided.
