The semifinalists are largely from Florida, with two others currently working in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The Herald reported that Marrero, one of the more high-profile applicants, did not appear to meet the Miami school board\u2019s requirement that candidates have \u201cpublic school classroom teaching experience or equivalent instructional experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Miami district is seeking a successor to current Superintendent Jos\u00e9 Dotres, whose contract ends in February.
