VANCOUVER, British Columbia \u2014 Erling Haaland arrived at his first FIFA World Cup with a \u201cViking Row\u201d and seven goals that have powered Norway<\/a> into the quarterfinals for the first time in the team\u2019s history. <\/p>\n

Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, the 25-year-old striker \u2014 who secured the win against Brazil with a second-half brace \u2014 stood out during practice on Wednesday at the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. <\/p>\n

During a news conference, Martin \u00d8degaard, Norway<\/a>\u2019s captain, said they will be facing \u201coutstanding … world-class players\u201d during the match against England<\/a> at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Miami Gardens. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a big test for us,\u201d \u00d8degaard said. <\/p>\n

For Haaland, the match will be a Golden Boot<\/a> showdown against Harry Kane, the captain of England<\/a> and Bayern Munich. <\/p>\n

Six others also advanced to the quarterfinals. <\/p>\n

Morocco<\/a> and France<\/a> advanced to play at 4 p.m. on July 9th.<\/p>\n

Belgium<\/a> and Spain<\/a> advanced to play at 3 p.m. on July 10. <\/p>\n

Switzerland<\/a> and Argentina<\/a> advanced to play at 9 p.m. on July 11. <\/p>\n

Eliminations <\/p>\n

Eight teams were eliminated: Colombia<\/a>, Egypt<\/a>, the U.S.<\/a>, Portugal<\/a>, Canada<\/a>, Paraguay<\/a>, Mexico<\/a>, and Brazil<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The tournament, held every four years, started with 48 teams on June 11. <\/p>\n

After matches within 12 groups of four, 16 teams were eliminated. The Round of 32<\/a> matches eliminated the 16 others<\/a> from June 28 to Friday. <\/p>\n
