{"id":333678,"date":"2026-07-08T22:43:23","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:43:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/333678\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T22:43:23","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T22:43:23","slug":"man-accused-of-arson-arrested-after-tampa-restaurant-fire-hcso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/333678\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of arson arrested after Tampa restaurant fire: HCSO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 A man armed with knives was arrested Tuesday morning after deputies found him inside a burning Tampa restaurant, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office (HCSO).<\/p>\n<p>Deputies responded around 8:45 a.m. to a business on West Waters Avenue after receiving reports of a possible assault or battery in progress.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, officials said smoke and flames were pouring from the restaurant while a propane tank outside the building had also caught fire.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies spotted 53-year-old Rubiel Maceo Castillo inside the restaurant holding two knives and ordered him to drop the weapons and come outside, HCSO said.<\/p>\n<p>Working with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews, deputies helped contain the fire before taking Castillo into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Castillo is now facing several charges, including first-degree arson of an occupied structure.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/JULIE.SALOMONE.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Urgent plea for rare blood donors to help save Florida teen&#8217;s life<\/p>\n<p>Gigi Felix needs very specific donors to help save her life.
