The Miami Heat<\/a> continues to wait for LeBron James<\/a> to make a free agency decision. Nine days ago, James was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> who wasn\u2019t sure if he was going to play a record 24th NBA season. Today, James is the hottest name on the open market with several teams in hot pursuit.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Heat make sense to many as James\u2019 potential next team. From the reunion factor to the Heat\u2019s addition of Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a> earlier this offseason, to James\u2019 appreciation of the Miami organization. As currently constructed, the Heat have the make up of a contender in the Eastern Conference. Appearing on Yahoo Sports on Wednesday, Windhorst revealed only the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> share the same category as the Heat among teams competing to sign James.<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the things that is gonna come down here, I think, LeBron will have to decide is how much he cares about what people will think if he goes to a team he\u2019s never played for before. Basically, if he chooses somebody besides Cleveland or Miami. Because Cleveland or Miami, it\u2019s a very clean decision. It makes sense. Both of them have cases. \u2026 Does he want to deal with, in his life, what the reaction would be if he went to Philadelphia, or Minnesota, or Denver, or something like that?\u00a0<\/p>\n Added Windhorst: \u201cI do think that Cleveland and Miami are in their own category. While Antetokounmpo hasn\u2019t publicly recruited James, the 10-time All-Star \u2014 a one time champion who spent his first 13 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> \u2014 is making it clear to the Heat he is hopeful James will sign with Miami.<\/p>\n \u201cI think Giannis clearly is hopeful that LeBron will come, and I think that was a good sign. \u2026 I think if you\u2019re LeBron, you think it\u2019s cool that Giannis is so wrapped up in what you might do, and certainly the Heat are still absolutely on the board.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite Antetokounmpo\u2019s friendly relationship with James, the former Milwaukee star likely has no intel on which team James will choose to play for next season.\u00a0<\/p>\n As Windhorst notes, James has a track record of keeping his free agency plans private. The lead up to \u201cThe Decision\u201d in 2010, James\u2019 return to the Cavaliers in 2014 and his move to the Los Angeles Lakers were all kept under wraps until an official announcement was made.\u00a0<\/p>\n James\u2019 former teammate Richard Jefferson<\/a> revealed James knows exactly what he wants to do.
