(WPEC)<\/p>\n<p>High temperatures are expected to soar into the 90s across Florida over the next few days. <\/p>\n<p>Some cities across the state could see record highs on Thursday and Friday. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Record highs are possible Thursday afternoon. (WPEC)<\/p>\n<p>This heat is due to a mid-level ridge of high pressure and a large plume of<a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/news\/local\/why-saharan-dust-creates-more-colorful-sunrises-and-sunsets-across-florida-weather-saharan-air-layer-storms-heat-wind-rain-weather-sahara-desert-in-north-africa-affects-florida-weather-news-sky-sunlight-wavelengths\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Saharan Dust<\/a> that&#8217;s settling overhead. <\/p>\n<p>The dust is keeping the rain chances low as well. <\/p>\n<p>Without the cloud coverage and rain that the rainy season brings, temperatures are able to rise. <\/p>\n<p>The heat index will also easily reach the triple digits over the next few days. <\/p>\n<p>A Heat Advisory remains in effect across the state for the remainder of Wednesday afternoon, and we are likely to see them get issued again over the next few days. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A Heat Advisory is in effect across the state for the remainder of the afternoon.
