WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. (WJHG\/WECP) – One child is dead Wednesday following an ATV crash in Gulf County involving three children, according to the Gulf County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Deputies responded at approximately 10:40 a.m. to a crash on private property north of Wewahitchka, off State Road 71. All three children were transported to a local hospital, where one did not survive.<\/p>\n
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene and is now leading the investigation.<\/p>\n
Wewahitchka High School announced they will be open on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. for students who would like support during this difficult time. Certified mental health professionals will also be available. <\/p>\n
