Eight Waves, a Winter Garden nonprofit dedicated to supporting under-resourced children and families, is asking for the community’s help.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an announcement made Wednesday, July 8, the nonprofit announced its van that transports students to summer camp, field trips, tutoring and life-changing opportunities is broken beyond repair.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The nonprofit’s immediate goal was to raise $1,716.96 to rent a van for the remaining two weeks of summer camp, which it already has accomplished.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the announcement, Eight Waves officials said if its collections surpassed the $1,716.96, it would go toward the purchase of a used passenger van for $6,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In its latest update, the nonprofit announced it is $2,500 short from the $6,000, less than six hours after its initial announcement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“When a community comes together, even obstacles become opportunities,” Eight Waves officials said. “Every contribution \u2014 whether $10, $25, $50, or more, is an investment in access for our students.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
