(WFLA) \u2014 Two tired snorkelers had to be saved near Destin over the holiday weekend after they were swept out in a rip current.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Video posted to Facebook by the Okaloosa County Sheriff&#8217;s Office shows the July 4 rescue as the pair were located and pulled aboard the marine unit to be taken back to shore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the video, the boat pulls up besides the weary snorkelers and a marine unit officer is shown throwing them a lifesaver buoy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Hey, man, are you hurt anywhere?&#8221; the officer asks one of the snorkelers after the pair are safely aboard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Fortunately, no one was harmed in the process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The pair were snorkeling when they were spotted waving their arms for help, according to the sheriff&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;You don&#8217;t realize how bad that could have been,&#8221; one officer told the pair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
