The big 250th fireworks party is over but there’s plenty of summer fun to be had, from Infinity Con sci-fi costumes to Swamp Stomp at the Tallahassee Museum. Pay tribute to ice man John Gorrie on Bastille Day.<\/p>\n

1. Step out for Swamp Stomp tradition\"Tallahassee<\/p>\n

Tallahassee musician Del Suggs is in the artist lineup for FSU’s Opening Nights.<\/p>\n

Is it hot? Yes! Is it steamy? Yes! Chance of rain? Yes! Then it must be time for the Tallahassee Museum’s beloved tradition of the Swamp Stomp festival on the shady museum grounds from 4-9 p.m. Saturday, July 11. Tickets are $17.50-$12.50. Visit tallahasseemuseum.org.<\/a><\/p>\n

For over four decades since 1979, music lovers have gathered under the ancient oak canopy of the Tallahassee museum for an evening that celebrates our community’s soul. The Tallahassee Museum is hosting a rare fishing cat named Marina to teach visitors about wetland conservation.<\/p>\n

Swamp Stomp is also a chance to visit the museum’s new guest animal: the fishing cat<\/a>. Tallahassee Museum will welcome one of the animal kingdom’s most specialized hunters when a fishing cat, a vulnerable species native to the wetlands of South and Southeast Asia, makes her public debut the same day as the Swamp Stomp Music Festival.<\/p>\n

2. Get to Infinity Con and beyond\"Infinity<\/p>\n

Infinity Con is coming to the Civic Center on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The 8th Annual Infinity Con Tallahassee blasts off at 10 a.m. July 11-12, at the Tucker Civic Center, inviting attendees to explore the worlds of science fiction, fantasy, anime, gaming, comic books, movies, television, STEM, robotics, art, and more. According to founder David Heringer, Infinity Con Tallahassee will be his sole event moving forward, allowing organizers to focus their attention on the Tallahassee community and the artists, creators, and innovators who call it home.<\/p>\n

3. Catch Peak Dive and Bastille Day fun\"Peak<\/p>\n

Peak Dive brings post-punk revival to Blue Tavern at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026.<\/p>\n

Brian Durham & Friends kicks off happy hour at Blue Tavern, 1206 N. Monroe St., at 5 p.m. Friday, July 10. Brian is celebrating his birthday with a special happy hour show. Songwriters in the Round with host Craig Daniel Hardin cranks up at 8 p.m. with featured performers: Frank Douglas, Bobby Kennedy and Jerry Mincey. The series continues in July with Jerry Mincey, Bobby Kennedy and Frank Douglas. $10 cover.It’s time for the Old Time Jam at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, with players and lovers of old time music, followed at 8 p.m. by Peak Dive, with indie rock, post-punk revival, and alt-country. The trio’s music feels like a lost classic rediscovered, drawing inspiration from icons like The Chameleons, R.E.M., Spoon, and Ween.<\/p>\n

Blue Tavern celebrates Dr. John Gorrie with a “Celebration of Ice!” at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025.<\/p>\n

Happy hour brings a special celebration of John Gorrie’s ice machine and Bastille Day at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. Events include a 7-minute play, performed every year on this date, re-enacting Dr. Gorrie’s introduction of his unheard of device, the first ice machine, at an Apalachicola Bastille Day in 1850. Stick around for Bluesday Tuesday: Green Street Sheiks at 8 p.m. with early blues, country and jug band tunes. Bob Vaughn Cole, Andy Thomas and Colten Hood will take you back to the country. $5 cover.<\/p>\n

4. Take in regional premiere of ‘Jagged Little Pill’\"New<\/p>\n

New Stage Theatreworks will present the regional premiere of “Jagged Little Pill: The Musical,” the Broadway sensation inspired by Alanis Morissette’s landmark album July 10-12, 17-19, 2026.<\/p>\n

New Stage Theatreworks is proud to present the regional premiere this weekend of “Jagged Little Pill: The Musical,” the Broadway sensation inspired by the groundbreaking music and themes of Alanis Morissette’s landmark album.<\/p>\n

Featuring music by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard, lyrics by Alanis Morissette, and a book by Academy Award-winning writer Diablo Cody, “Jagged Little Pill” explores the complexities of modern family life through a story that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.<\/p>\n

The Monticello Opera House and Essential Theatrical Associates are gearing up for the upcoming production of “Five Guys Named Moe,” running July 16\u201319, at the Monticello Opera House, 185 W. Washington St., Monticello<\/p>\n

This lively musical by Clarke Peters celebrates the music of Louis Jordan, one of the great pioneers of rhythm and blues. With unforgettable songs, humor, movement, and heart, “Five Guys Named Moe” offers audiences an energetic night of music and theatre.<\/p>\n

Dee Selmore, co-founder \/ production manager of Essential Theatrical Associates, says this is the fouth year of their partnership with MOH, and the musical is for anyone interested in live entertainment, local arts, music history, theater, jazz, rhythm and blues, and community events in the Big Bend region.<\/p>\n

Old Porch Swing returns to the corner stage at Bird’s, 325 N. Bronough St., from 7-10 p .m. Friday, July 10, after a couple months off. String Band Swing done right. Old Porch Swing brings together five North Florida gents who’ve been pickin’ since they were kids: David Langston on the fiddle, Dennis Hardin on the banjo, Ben Banks on guitar, Jim Crozier on bass, Mark Blair on the kit, and everyone sings.<\/p>\n
