Fort Lauderdale, FL – JetBlue is expanding its presence at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport by adding 11 new destinations and increasing service on several existing routes, creating the airline’s largest flight schedule from the South Florida airport.<\/p>\n
The expansion includes new nonstop service to Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Nashville, Ponce in Puerto Rico, and the Colombian cities of Barranquilla and Cali. <\/p>\n
According to the airline, some of the domestic routes began operating in early July, while service to Barranquilla and Cali is scheduled to begin in October. <\/p>\n
Flights to Columbus and Indianapolis are expected to launch in November.<\/p>\n
JetBlue said the additional routes are intended to provide travelers with more nonstop options for business, leisure and family travel while strengthening connections throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. <\/p>\n
The expanded schedule will also increase the number of daily departures from Fort Lauderdale, further establishing the airport as one of the airline’s largest operating bases.<\/p>\n
In addition to the route expansion, JetBlue announced a limited time status match program for eligible Spirit Airlines Free Spirit Silver and Gold members.<\/p>\n
Travelers who qualify can receive comparable status in JetBlue’s TrueBlue Mosaic loyalty program, which includes benefits such as priority boarding and other travel perks.<\/p>\n
The airline said the expanded schedule reflects its continued investment in South Florida and its long term commitment to serving the Fort Lauderdale market.<\/p>\n
