The Houston Dynamo are acquiring American striker Duncan McGuire from Orlando City, The \u200bAthletic reported Thursday.<\/p>\n
In exchange \u200cfor the 25-year-old McGuire, Orlando will receive $1.25 million in general allocation money and $1.15 million in targeted allocation money \u200cin \u200bperformance-based incentives. The \u2060Lions also will \u2060retain a sell-on clause.<\/p>\n
Orlando City held McGuire out of Wednesday night\u2019s friendly against the Tampa \u200bBay Rowdies.<\/p>\n
McGuire has recorded two goals and one assist \u2060in 11 matches (four \u2060starts) this season, his \u200bfourth with Orlando.<\/p>\n
He broke onto the \u200bMLS scene with 14 goals \u200cin 2023 and added 10 more in 2024 before missing time in 2025 due to \u2060surgeries on both shoulders. McGuire has recorded 29 goals and eight assists in \u206085 \u200ccareer matches (45 starts).<\/p>\n
Orlando still \u2060will have plenty of \u200bfirepower \u200cafter signing French star \u200bAntoine Griezmann \u2060this spring along with fellow designated players Martin Ojeda and Marco Pasalic, Brazilian attacker Tiago and homegrown forward Justin Ellis.<\/p>\n
