TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Crews are battling a fire at the Florida History Museum in downtown Tallahassee, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.<\/p>\n
TFD said they received reports of an active fire in the R.A. Gray building around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n
There are several crews on scene working to contain the fire, according to TFD. <\/p>\n
The building was evacuated and there have been no injuries reported, TFD said.<\/p>\n
TFD urges the public to avoid the area as they work to put out the fire. Martin Luther King Blvd between Pensacola Street and Madison Street is closed.<\/p>\n
The fire started in an exterior construction area before extending into the walls of the building between the second and third floors of the building, according to TFD.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire is not currently known.<\/p>\n
The RA Gray Building also houses the State Library of Florida, Florida State Archives and the state elections office.<\/p>\n
It is unclear if the fire is in the museum itself, or another part of the building. <\/p>\n
