A tow-truck driver was shot at but not injured after a Miami Gardens man pursued his repossessed Ford F-150; he faces assault charges, police say.<\/p>\n

A Miami Gardens man wasn\u2019t ready to let go of his black Ford F-150 as it was repossessed from his home on Monday. He was so enraged he chased down the tow-truck driver, shot at him and hunted him down again, police say.<\/p>\n
Lawrence Hilbert Morant, 39, is facing charges of armed criminal mischief, aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into vehicles. As of Thursday, he had bonded out of the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.<\/p>\n
Around 6 p.m. Monday, the tow-truck driver hooked up Morant\u2019s pick-up truck in his driveway, an arrest report read. As the driver was leaving, Morant ran outside and tried to stop him but failed.<\/p>\n
Moments later, Morant \u201caggressively pursued,\u201d running after the tow truck, yelling curse words and threatening the driver, Miami Gardens police said.<\/p>\n
The driver thought he was a safe distance away from Morant so he got out of his truck to secure the F-150 again. However, Morant tracked him down and \u201caggressively confronted him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wanting no part of Morant\u2019s anger, the driver drove off again but Morant pulled out a handgun and shot at the tow truck \u2014 hitting it several times, the report read.<\/p>\n
The driver was uninjured and drove to a nearby Exxon gas station to call police. Hot on his trail, Morant found him there.<\/p>\n
The gas station was about five miles from Morant\u2019s home, it\u2019s unclear if he ran all the way there.<\/p>\n
Officers swarmed the gas station before Morant could do anything else to the driver or his tow truck.<\/p>\n
Authorities wrote that Morant admitted to them that he \u201cintentionally fired his handgun at the tow truck while the [driver] was inside.\u201d<\/p>\n
