Bodycam captures emotional reunion after deputies find lost Florida teen<\/p>\n

A terrifying night for one Florida family ended in relief after deputies found a missing 14-year-old girl with autism who became lost while riding her bike after dark.<\/p>\n

Body camera video captured the emotional moments after deputies from Flagler County, Florida, located the teen.<\/p>\n

“Where’s my mom?” the girl asked.<\/p>\n

“We’re going to take you to your mom,” a deputy replied.<\/p>\n

“Can I have a hug? I’m so scared,” the teen said. <\/p>\n

The 14-year-old, who has high-functioning autism, went out for a bike ride on Wednesday evening. But as the sun began to set, she became disoriented and couldn’t find her way back home.<\/p>\n

She ended up lost along a trail near Peavy Grade in Palm Coast.<\/p>\n

Her mother, Amber Toel, said she received a call from her daughter and immediately started searching for her.<\/p>\n

“At this point, her phone is dead, the sun is almost set, and mommy fear kicks in,” Toel said. “The last communication I had, she was freaking out a little bit. She’s like, ‘Please, please call the cops. Just call 911.’ And I did.”<\/p>\n

Flagler County sheriff’s deputies responded and launched a search of the area. Using drones and searching along nearby trails and railroad tracks, deputies located the teen about 30 minutes later. Toel says she was missing for more than two hours. <\/p>\n

“Luckily, she had an electric bike that had a headlamp on it, so her light, we could see in the distance,” Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Robert Tarczewski said.<\/p>\n

Body camera video shows deputies hugging the frightened teen before reuniting her with her mother.<\/p>\n

“I felt every sense in my body just relax,” Toel said. “Pure gratefulness to them for finding her, pure relief, frustration. There were a lot of emotions.” <\/p>\n

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office praised the deputies involved, saying their quick response and coordinated search helped bring the girl home safely.<\/p>\n
