But Deco\u2019s Alex Miranda knows him best as his prom date. Rex, who\u2019s been making appearances at SoFlo FIFA events, caused quite a scene when I met him at the Miami Beach Bandshell.<\/p>\n
Meet Rex, the viral dancing robot who\u2019s been turning sidewalks into dance floors and strangers into backup dancers.<\/p>\n
He, it, whatever, has become one of Miami\u2019s most unexpected celebrities. <\/p>\n
Pop in and lock in at World Cup events across South Florida with his own favorite TV show and everything.<\/p>\n
Rex: \u201cDeco Drive, South Florida\u2019s number one entertainment show on WSVN Channel 7.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex: \u201cDo you know anything about the co-hosts?\u201d<\/p>\n
Rex: \u201cLynn Martinez and Shireen Sandoval. Solid team. Great chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fan: \u201cI think that robots are just cool and some robots get to help humans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Good thing because I\u2019m a little rusty on the dance floor.<\/p>\n

Fan: \u201cIt kind of looks like he\u2019s like a human, but the movements are just like a little bit less like a human.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex: \u201cRex, how is it that you move like that?\u201d<\/p>\n
Rex: \u201cIt\u2019s all hydraulics and powerful motors and real-time balance adjustments from my sensors. Think of it like snowboarding, constantly shifting weight to stay centered and that\u2019s what I do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex: \u201cI think you\u2019ve had a little too much to drink.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex: \u201cWhat do you think about it?\u201d<\/p>\n
Fan: \u201cI like it. I like how he dance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alex: \u201cYou like how he dances?\u201d<\/p>\n
Fan: \u201cYes. Good move. Yeah, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oh, we believe you.<\/p>\n
