A popular Tampa caf\u00e9 and sweet shop, Roasted!<\/a>, is making its way to Pensacola this summer at 2620 Creighton Road.<\/p>\n

Owner Loai Kader, a Pensacola native and Pine Forest High School graduate<\/a> who now lives in Tampa, is opening a second location in Pensacola, with a grand opening slated for Aug. 14.<\/p>\n

With its modern, contemporary design, Kader plans for the cafe to be “something grand that will wow customers.”<\/p>\n

The unique shop offers a variety of gourmet coffee beverages, popular Middle Eastern desserts, plenty of by-the-pound special gummies, European chocolates, fresh roasted nuts and more.<\/p>\n

Unlike the Tampa location, which is set up more like a store, the Pensacola shop will appear more like a sit-down caf\u00e9, but will also have areas where its best-selling products are displayed.<\/p>\n

“For Pensacola, it will be 100% coffee first, then everything else,” Kader said. “The way we’re setting up the sitting area and the booths and everything, we’re going all out\u2026When you walk in, you’re going to feel like you’re in a coffee shop, but we are designating a small area that does have all the different things that are the good sellers that we sell her in Tampa.”<\/p>\n

The Tampa shop, which opened in 2020, boasts highly positive online reviews, with shoppers listing the “endless” options of sweets to try, from traditional to trendy. Last year, Roasted even earned the 28th spot on Yelp’s “Top 50 spots for chocolate treats, according to Elites”<\/a> list, which included shops across the U.S. and Canada.<\/p>\n

“Yelpers praise Roasted! for its unique selection of European chocolates, Turkish delights, and Dubai chocolate-covered strawberries,” Yelp stated. “You definitely won’t leave empty-handed, as this local business is known for its expansive selection of chocolate confections.”<\/p>\n

“Everything looks and tastes like it was made for your cravings and your camera roll,” one Tampa Bay Yelp reviewer wrote.<\/p>\n

At the Pensacola shop, they will offer their cold brews, cortados, Turkish tea, specialty lattes, refreshers and more. Kader said they plan to offer special drinks regularly, possibly even biweekly, to keep the menu exciting.<\/p>\n

Roasted! will be using Alla Prima Coffee Roaster beans for a custom blend they are creating.<\/p>\n

Kader was inspired to open Roasted! by his travels throughout the Middle East, where these types of sweet shops are “everywhere,” he said.<\/p>\n

“We’d go every summer, every other summer overseas\u2026the older you get, the more business-minded, so you’re like, ‘Wow, this would work back home in the States,'” he said.<\/p>\n

Social media has played a significant role in helping the store take off, especially after it featured viral items such as its Dubai chocolates and a wide variety of fruit-shaped ice cream.<\/p>\n

“That (social media) craze took off, and we just started getting more and more creative,” he said. “Now, it’s not necessarily a social media store, but we do sell a lot of that stuff. That’s what drives people.”<\/p>\n

Some customers have even driven for hours to visit the store. Given the store’s success, Kader set out to create a similar version for his hometown.<\/p>\n

“Why not bring this back home to Pensacola?” Kader said.<\/p>\n

Kader is renovating a former GameStop he used to shop at with his brother, who will be helping run the caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n

“I remember we used to go in there as kids, buying games and stuff and now we’re going to be operating out of that same unit,” he said. “Definitely the goal is to be the anchor of that plaza.”<\/p>\n

For customers, the shop brings the “kid in a candy store” expression to life, even for adults, bringing in products difficult to find in most American shops.<\/p>\n

The gummies are especially nostalgic for him because his family grew up eating them. Now, the treats will be part of new memories.<\/p>\n

“We want it to be welcoming; we want it to be a nice family atmosphere,” Kader said.<\/p>\n

Kader hopes to expand even more throughout Florida in time.<\/p>\n

“What we’re doing in Pensacola is going to be the template for future stores,” he said.<\/p>\n
