(WWSB) &#8211; A man pulled over for a traffic stop in Tampa July 8 allegedly tried to fool deputies into thinking he wasn\u2019t driving, and then tried to run from the scene, the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At about 2:50 p.m., Wednesday, deputies stopped a car with two people inside in a parking lot on North Florida Avenue. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As the deputy\u2019s dash cam and body cameras rolled, the two occupants tried to switch seats while inside the car. However, the vehicle was put into reverse, causing it to roll backward and hit the deputy\u2019s patrol vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">One of the men, identified as Farnardo Alexander Jr., 30, then walked away from the encounter and ran into a wooded area, but deputies quickly apprehended him. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alexander faces several felony charges, including leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and possession of cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWSB.
