{"id":336209,"date":"2026-07-10T21:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T21:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/336209\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T21:26:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T21:26:10","slug":"family-files-lawsuit-over-wynwood-police-shooting-that-killed-bystander-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/336209\/","title":{"rendered":"Family files lawsuit over Wynwood police shooting that killed bystander \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The family of 28-year-old Evelyn Vald\u00e9s has filed a lawsuit against the City of Miami, two police officers and others over her death during a police shooting in Wynwood in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit alleges the officers opened fire without giving any warning or verbal commands, escalated the situation and struck multiple bystanders, including Vald\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Surveillance video obtained by NBC6 appears to show a fight breaking out outside the Electric Lady nightclub around 2 a.m. in June 2025.
