JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Jacksonville Aviation Authority will meet next week to talk about the possibility of suing the City of Jacksonville.<\/p>\n
JAA argues the Jacksonville City Council overstepped its authority when it made proposals about how JAA should spend its money.<\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/a><\/p>\n That includes changes and suggestions the Council had about the agency\u2019s 2026 budget and contributions to other city agencies.<\/p>\n Action News Jax first told you last August<\/a> about the dispute between JAA and now-Jacksonville City Council President Howland<\/a>.<\/p>\n In June<\/a>, Action News Jax\u2019s Ben Becker obtained an email where the FAA said it had \u201cserious concern\u201d with reports that JAA executive leadership had faced threats of personnel action for following federal guidelines.<\/p>\n The discussion about the proposed lawsuit will take place at a special meeting on Thursday at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n You can view the draft lawsuit included in JAA\u2019s public meeting notice below:<\/p>\n July 16, 2026 JAA Special Bd.
