And I think this may be the first cool thing that we ever actually brought here,\u201d he said. Woods isn’t the only one who thinks that.When Port St. Lucie City Council unanimously approved the project last November, supporters celebrated the decision. \u201cIt is the potential to be a complete transformative opportunity,\u201d Ken Krazow said. \u201cPort St. Lucie needs large-scale events, and we need something here,\u201d Mark Bryant said. However, some residents have voiced concerns about the project, specifically about added traffic in an already congested area.\u201cNobody said anything about the noise complaint, because it\u2019s going to be bloody loud,\u201d Vincent Rowan said. \u201cI\u2019m a little worried about safety, drunks, noise, traffic,\u201d Jennifer Harris said. The Port St. Lucie Soccer Club is set to begin play in 2027, with the stadium expected to be completed in 2028. The city must still approve a site plan for the stadium construction before any building can begin.
