{"id":33716,"date":"2025-11-05T02:27:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T02:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/33716\/"},"modified":"2025-11-05T02:27:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T02:27:06","slug":"martin-county-residents-divided-over-growth-after-minimal-raise-in-population","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/33716\/","title":{"rendered":"Martin County residents divided over growth after minimal raise in population"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 Longtime residents say it\u2019s impossible not to notice how much Martin County has changed over the years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as growth, I see the natural flora being decimated,\u201d said John Wrobleuski, a Martin County resident of over 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH WPTV&#8217;S COVERAGE BELOW:<\/p>\n<p>Martin County residents divided over growth as officials report population up just 1.23%<\/p>\n<p>Families who have moved to the area more recently say they\u2019ve also noticed more development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just expanding so much there are more buildings,\u201d said resident Cheryl Layton.<\/p>\n<p>Despite those perceptions, county data suggests the growth may not be as rapid as it appears.
