He is the highest-drafted Bearkat pitcher since Kevin Renz was picked 54th overall by the Detroit Tigers in 1984.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Peterson posted a 3.38 ERA this season and held opponents to a .236 batting average. The right-hander also recorded six wins and struck out 105 batters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Peterson was named first-team All-Conference USA and was a semifinalist for the National Pitcher of the Year Award by the College Baseball Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KBTX.
