A child was taken to the hospital on Sunday after nearly drowning in North Lauderdale, deputies said. <\/p>\n

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, before 10 a.m., deputies received reports of a possible toddler who drowned in a pool in the 6600 block of Pebble Beach. <\/p>\n

Deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived at the beach and took the child to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

The child’s condition was not released. <\/p>\n

An investigation into the incident is underway. <\/p>\n

Recently, there have been several drowning and near-drowning incidents throughout South Florida.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, a 2-year-old boy died <\/a>after he was found in a lake in Plantation, police said.<\/p>\n

Last month, a 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a lake near North Redland Road and Northwest 12th Street.<\/p>\n

Marcus Sanders’ family is now suing three corporations<\/a>, alleging the property owners failed to properly secure and maintain the area where the tragedy happened.<\/p>\n
