Longtime Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had something to say to retired Heat forward and captain Udonis Haslem. It turns out Haslem also has something to say to Green.<\/p>\n
In the wake of the physical altercation between former Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro at a practice court set up outside of Resorts World Las Vegas on Friday morning, Green called out Haslem. Adebayo reportedly threw a punch at Herro\u2019s head before the two were separated.<\/p>\n
Haslem was critical of Green when he punched his former Warriors teammate Jordan Poole during a practice in October 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo when I first saw this, I was like \u2018damn,\u201d Green said during an episode of his podcast<\/a>, \u201cThe Draymond Green Show,\u201d released over the weekend. \u201cThis is two guys Udonis Haslem raised. If you raised this young guy in the light of what you was saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy, that y\u2019all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n The altercation between Adebayo and Herro was sparked by recent comments apparently made by Herro on social media critiquing Adebayo and also showing some resentment toward Adebayo.<\/p>\n \u201cReality is I don\u2019t want him [Haslem] to have that same energy because I love Bam,\u201d Green said. \u201cThat\u2019s my brother, my dog \u2026 Tyler Herro, who\u2019s from Milwaukee like Jordan Poole, has a lot of bravado as a young guy probably said some very disrespectful things like Jordan Poole.\u201d<\/p>\n It didn\u2019t take long for Haslem to respond to Green, posting a long message on Twitter on Sunday evening aimed at Green\u2019s recent comments.<\/p>\n \u201cI see some things just don\u2019t change. lol,\u201d wrote Haslem, who has become the Heat vice president of basketball development and a studio analyst for Prime Video\u2019s NBA coverage since his playing career came to an end in 2023.. \u201cYou was on sucka s— four years ago when you swung on Jordan Poole and you on sucka s— now. I usually don\u2019t engage but since you went so far left to get my attention here it is!!!<\/p>\n \u201cIf you think your big 32 year old, 3 or 4 rings at the time having a– swinging on a 23 year old Jordan Poole at the time is the same then you are even more delusional that I thought.<\/p>\n \u201cFirst of all Bam is 28. Tyler is 26. Neither one of them got it all figured out yet. Maybe I was giving you too much credit at the time cause I thought you did so that\u2019s why I commented. 2nd, anyone who knows bam knows he\u2019s strong as baby bear. If he would\u2019ve unloaded on Tyler 100% it\u2019s over. You fired off on that young boy like it was a club punch and you never met him before in your life. 3rd yeah I did go at Jimmy. You damn right. The s— you pull in golden state and that shit he pulled in Chicago talking crazy to Hoiberg and disrespecting teammates in practice in Minnesota ain\u2019t gon fly in the 305. So yeah. I checked his a–.<\/p>\n \u201cCall it heat culture or what ever you want but before I let one player disrespect Spo in front of the squad, cut his legs out and disrupt what 15 other guys tryin to get accomplished, I\u2019ll kick his a–. I owe that to [Alonzo Mourning] and Tim [Hardaway] and Glen [Rice] and the rest of my OGs.<\/p>\n \u201cIon really vibe you and I think you know that so unless it\u2019s me on prime talking hoops I won\u2019t mention you at all. You brought me into this and I am retired and out the way. I suggest you keep it pushing cause I ain\u2019t giving out no more hall passes bra!\u201d<\/p>\n Adebayo and Herro spent the last seven seasons as Heat teammates before Herro was dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks this summer as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. Haslem was their Heat teammates for four of those seasons prior to retiring.<\/p>\n \u201cMy only comment is no comment,\u201d Herro said Friday when asked about the incident while on his way out of Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n A Heat spokesperson said Friday of the incident: \u201cWe are aware and not commenting.\u201d<\/p>\n Adebayo remained in Las Vegas and attended his girlfriend A\u2019ja Wilson\u2019s WNBA game on Saturday at Michelob ULTRA Arena.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear if any team or league-issued punishment for Adebayo and\/or Herro could come from Friday\u2019s incident.<\/p>\n Related Stories from Miami Herald<\/p>\n
