Federal funding for medicaid services was suspended July 4, 2025 for one year. The order expired July 4, 2026.<\/p>\n
Many political\u00a0 advertisements stated that Planned\u00a0Parenthood performs only abortions . This is not\u00a0 the\u00a0 truth.<\/p>\n
The Hyde Amendment\u00a0passed in the 1970s stated that Medicaid\u00a0 already doesn\u2019t cover abortion\u00a0and regular people\u00a0do not know this fact.<\/p>\n
Do you\u00a0know what Planned Parenthood in Fort Myers does?<\/p>\n
I called the Planned Parenthood office and I spoke to a woman that told me so much information.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She told me the list of what Planned Parenthood does is on the web page and that so many things can be treated\u00a0 at Planned Parenthood.\u00a0 The staff is\u00a0 accredited\u00a0license professionals\u00a0that are licensed, non judgmental, kind and the office tries to make booking easier for appointments. Locally, the regional headquarters in Tampa holds an A+ rating\u00a0in the Better Business Bureau Business Profile.<\/p>\n
Healthcare includes: STD and HIV services (infection, testing and treatment and pre exposure and PEP medications\u00a0to prevent\u00a0HIV),\u00a0 birth control, family planning (as pregnancy timing, professional insertion and removal of IUDs),prescriptions, fertility\u00a0education, cancer screening\u00a0with direct imaging referrals and\u00a0 diagnostic medical maternity management.\u00a0Vasectomies are not\u00a0 done at the Fort Myers but in the Jacksonville\u00a0 location.<\/p>\n
Now medicaid can reimburse\u00a0for the care of the patients.<\/p>\n
I support good health\u00a0for Lee County and its citizens. I support\u00a0Planned Parenthood, yearly wellness visits and on behalf of their patients on medicaid I implore you to become healthy as\u00a0possible and live a good life in Lee county.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Political attacks will continue but look for political\u00a0 candidates that support good health for the citizens in Lee county.<\/p>\n
