ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Interim Orlando City Commissioner Shan Rose will keep her seat for another term after winning the District 5 election Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Preliminary results show Rose receiving more than 50% of the vote, defeating former Commissioner Regina Hill, who earned just over 30%.<\/p>\n
Rose celebrated with supporters at Arome Caf\u00e9 in Orlando after results came in shortly after 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt means the residents, businesses and visitors like what I\u2019m doing and they want me to keep working for them,\u201d Rose said. \u201cI love you, and I look forward to serving you for the next four years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hill had hoped to reclaim her seat after being suspended by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2024 following her arrest on charges of mortgage fraud and exploitation of the elderly.<\/p>\n

Speaking outside the Rock Lake Neighborhood Center on Election Day, Hill said she was grateful to have the chance to appear on the ballot again.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been a journey, and for me to be on the ballot for the people to decide to send me back to City Hall means a lot,\u201d Hill said. \u201cJust knowing God still favors me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rose said the campaign was challenging but credited her victory to her record in office.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you serve a district, results speak for themselves,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve been doing my three Ps, purpose, presence and putting people first, and it shows in the results tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rose said her priorities for the next term include advancing affordable housing projects and addressing crime in downtown Orlando.<\/p>\n
