Armor for Sleep recently wrapped up a month-long headlining tour, but not before stopping by The Social in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n
The band dubbed this mid-year run \u201cThere Is No Summer,\u201d communicating that their songs come from a more wintry state of mind. This tour was not only designed with the band\u2019s most die-hard fans in mind, but it was also built collaboratively with them. With the idea to create a career-spanning experience and not focus on one specific era or album, the band took to social media to build their setlist, as fans commented in droves to request any lesser-played gem or deep cut they desired. The tour dates themselves took place in intimate venues across the country, complete with VIP experiences that prioritized chances for the band to connect with their community over posed photo ops.<\/p>\n
The tour\u2019s moniker couldn\u2019t scare away the typical Florida summer afternoon rainstorm and subsequent humidity. Still, the venue filled out the moment doors opened, attendees excited and engaged with openers Flycatcher and Spanish Love Songs. As Armor for Sleep prepared to take over the intimate stage, the packed crowd moved as close to the barricade-less stage as possible. They sandwiched their fan-favorite requests in-between their biggest hits, pausing before many of the songs to give some insight into the inspiration behind the lyrics. The audience listened intently at the chance to hear these stories told in such an intimate setting.<\/p>\n
Besides one festival date on their calendar, the band\u2019s schedule for the remainder of the year remains a mystery. Perhaps they\u2019re planning a winter leg of this very special experience.<\/p>\n
