KISSIMEE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A 4-year-old Georgia boy vacationing in Florida found an unsecured gun inside a vehicle Sunday and shot and killed a 2-year-old relative.<\/p>\n
Osceola County Sheriff Chris Blackmon<\/a> discussed the case during a Monday news conference. He said the shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 2600 block of Scrapbook Street in Kissimmee.<\/p>\n The family had traveled from Georgia for vacation and had just arrived at the short-term rental, Blackmon said. Aging death row inmates are set to die in Florida<\/a><\/p>\n According to the sheriff’s office, the 2-year-old remained inside the vehicle while family members were outside unloading. During that time, the 4-year-old entered the vehicle, found an unsecured, unholstered handgun and fired it.<\/p>\n Family members heard a gunshot from inside the vehicle and found the toddler wounded, deputies said.<\/p>\n The 2-year-old was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> homicide unit and the Florida Department of Children and Families<\/a> responded to the scene.
