(WFLA) \u2014 A Tampa Bay pizza chain has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the lawsuit, the EEOC claimed that one of the owners of Joey&#8217;s New York Pizza and Italian Restaurant, who manages three of its locations, &#8220;created a hostile work environment by targeting young female employees, including at least one teenager, with inappropriate sexual behavior.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The EEOC said when one of the women complained in August 2023, the company &#8220;failed to intervene or take appropriate action.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:What is the &#039;Barbie peptide&#039; people are using?;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wfla.com\/news\/national\/what-is-the-barbie-peptide-people-are-using\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" class=\"promo-link__link\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0What is the &#8216;Barbie peptide&#8217; people are using?\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Joey&#8217;s New York Pizza and Italian Restaurant said it will pay $55,000 and implement significant policy and training reforms to settle the federal lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;The EEOC appreciates Joey&#8217;s Pizza&#8217;s willingness to work collaboratively to resolve this matter at an early stage,&#8221; said Kristen Foslid, regional attorney for the EEOC&#8217;s Miami District. &#8220;The training and monitoring implemented through this consent decree are designed to ensure that the young women entering the workforce have a safe and respectful workplace where they can succeed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
