GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A Gadsden County deputy was arrested and charged with sexual battery and misconduct, according to court records.<\/p>\n
Sedale Canidate was arrested Friday at his Leon County home by U.S. Marshalls, according to arrest documents. <\/p>\n
Those arrest papers confirmed he worked for GCSO, but did not contain any details about the charges listed in Gadsden County\u2019s Clerk of Court website. <\/p>\n
Canidate was ordered to have no bond Monday morning and is Leon County as he awaits a transfer to Gadsden County. <\/p>\n
According to State Attorney Jack Campbell, Canidate was a school resource officer in Gadsden County.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Elijah Key said the school district has no comment on the arrest. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Gadsden County School District has an expectation of all stakeholders across all organizations in Gadsden to protect our children, respect them and ensure they are mentally and physically safe in all places,\u201d Key said.<\/p>\n
Campbell said that his office will not tolerate someone who uses their position for any type of violence. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think that people need to recognize that overwhelming majority of law enforcement working in the school systems that they\u2019re there and they\u2019re protecting the children and we need them to be out there protecting them, and then we who are in leadership and certainly this office will not tolerate somebody who uses that position for any type of violence or inappropriate contact with children,\u201d Campbell said.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear if Canidate is still employed by the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p>\n
