One South Florida man now has the answer after winning big on a Netflix competition show.<\/p>\n
Contestants from across the country walked into a luxury lakeside estate in British Columbia with one goal: keep secrets, hide in plain sight and compete for a chance at a million-dollar prize.<\/p>\n
But one South Florida man outplayed the rest.<\/p>\n
Nick Pellecchia, who lives in the heart of Brickell, is the winner of Season 2 of Netflix\u2019s \u201cMillion Dollar Secret<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI come from a completely different background than reality TV,\u201d Pellecchia said.<\/p>\n He studied finance at the University of Miami and worked at a commercial loans lender before turning his attention toward entertainment.<\/p>\n \u201cI always liked entertaining people and being funny,\u201d he said. \u201cI knew how powerful it was to have a brand and audience online, so I was always applying.\u201d<\/p>\n Eventually, that led him to Million Dollar Secret and a spot in the competition.<\/p>\n From the beginning, Pellecchia said his strategy was to avoid becoming a target.<\/p>\n \u201cMy plan going into it was (to) be kind of a funny, fratty type kid that doesn\u2019t have a target on his back, that people just like being comfortable around,\u201d Pellecchia said. <\/p>\n But that plan quickly changed when he identified who he believed was hiding the million-dollar secret.<\/p>\n \u201cI ended up being the only one clocking Altie as the millionaire and felt the need to speak up at the first dinner,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n After that, other contestants started looking to him for answers.<\/p>\n \u201cSo that whole plan went to the wayside and then it turned more into a situation where people were coming to me about what I thought was going on,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n Along the way, Pellecchia found himself holding the million-dollar briefcase, meaning he had to complete secret agendas without the other contestants finding out.<\/p>\n Pellecchia survived multiple rounds, eventually moving the money out of his briefcase before the attention became too much.<\/p>\n He made it to the final three, where the prize ended up back in his hands.<\/p>\n For Pellecchia, becoming a millionaire still feels surreal.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a pretty surreal feeling, because it all still feels like it was made up, and it\u2019s crazy because it\u2019s filmed nine months before it comes out,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n \u201cTo my parents, I said I\u2019m pretty sure there\u2019s money on the way, maybe it was a fever dream or something,\u201d he added, \u201cI\u2019m just grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, with a million dollars to his name, Pellecchia says he plans to keep investing in himself.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean I want that million dollars to be $10 (million) in the next few years, so I\u2019m gonna keep building businesses, being entrepreneurial with it and keep investing in myself a lot of it,\u201d he said. \u201cBut most of it, I\u2019m just gonna keep betting on myself, dude.\u201d<\/p>\n Pellecchia\u2019s Netflix journey didn\u2019t end with Million Dollar Secret.
