{"id":341144,"date":"2026-07-15T17:52:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T17:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/341144\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T17:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T17:52:09","slug":"charlotte-county-fire-station-to-relocate-while-its-replacement-is-built-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/341144\/","title":{"rendered":"CHARLOTTE COUNTY: Fire station to relocate while its replacement is built | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL JOBEAN \u2014 Charlotte County Fire &amp; EMS has closed Fire Station 3 on El Jobean Road and temporarily relocated operations while a replacement station is being built.<\/p>\n<p>The existing Fire Station 3, 4322 El Jobean Road in Port Charlotte, will be demolished to make way for a new facility.<\/p>\n<p>During construction, personnel and apparatus assigned to Fire Station 3 will operate from a temporary station across the the road at Randy Spence Park, 4333 Kerrigan Circle, Fire Department officials said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Engine 3 and Rescue 3 will remain operational throughout the project, and emergency response coverage will continue for the area.<\/p>\n<p>The replacement of Fire Station 3 is funded through the voter-approved 2020 1% local option sales tax.<\/p>\n<p>Built in 1977, Fire Station 3 serves the El Jobean community and areas around it.<\/p>\n<p>The station has \u201creached the end of its service life and no longer adequately supports the operational needs of a modern fire station.
