A woman has been arrested and her boyfriend is on the run after a stabbing at a Hialeah Tri-Rail station left a man critically injured Wednesday morning, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office officials said deputies and fire rescue crews responded to the station at 1125 E. 25th Street around 7:20 a.m. and found the victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.<\/p>\n
The victim, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest report, the victim had arrived at the station when he noticed a woman and her boyfriend, who was in possession of his bicycle that had been stolen earlier Wednesday.<\/p>\n
There was a confrontation among the three and the victim armed himself with a broomstick which he used to hit the woman after she approached him, the report said.<\/p>\n
The woman was able to arm herself with a broken piece of the broomstick and hit the victim, while her boyfriend started punching and striking the victim, the report said.<\/p>\n
At one point, the victim pushed the woman onto the train tracks, and the boyfriend pushed the victim onto the tracks, the report said.<\/p>\n
During the encounter, the victim was stabbed in the side of the torso and his arm by the woman before she slashed him across the face, the report said.<\/p>\n
The man and woman fled the scene but the woman, identified as 35-year-old Emely Barbena, later returned and was detained, officials said.<\/p>\n
Barbena was treated for injuries at a hospital before she was booked into jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.<\/p>\n
