ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Veterans Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 11, this year.<\/p>\n
Central Florida cities and counties will be honoring veterans on the actual day as well as leading up to Nov. 11.<\/p>\n
Veterans Day happens on Nov. 11 to celebrate the ending of World War 1 on November 11, 1918 at 11 a.m.; the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. It was initially known as Armistice Day and was changed to Veterans Day in 1954.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s a list of events happening throughout Central Florida:<\/p>\n
Orlando 2025 Veterans Day Parade<\/a><\/p>\n When: Saturday, Nov. 8 – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n Where: Lake Nona<\/p>\n Details: The parade will begin at Laureate Park Elementary School and finish at the Lake Nona Town Center. A ceremony will take place after the parade with additional fun for the family.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Celebration in Winter Park<\/a><\/p>\n When: Friday, Nov. 7 – 10 a.m.<\/p>\n Where: Winter Park Community Center Ruby Ball Amphitheater<\/p>\n Details: Musical performances, speakers and more. <\/p>\n Veterans Day Parade in Kissimmee<\/a><\/p>\n When: Saturday, Nov. 8 – 10 a.m.<\/p>\n Where: Downtown Kissimmee<\/p>\n Details: Event hosted by Osceola Veterans Council. The parade will go through Broadway and surrounding downtown area.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Tribute in Oviedo<\/a><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 – 5 p.m.<\/p>\n Where: 299 Center Lake Lane<\/p>\n Details: At the event, Commander Larry Kayne will give a speech about Veterans\u2019 Day before reading the names that will be unveiled on the wall. Hagerty High School JROTC Honor Guard will provide the colors, and the Oviedo High School Brass Ensemble will perform the National Anthem. <\/p>\n Veterans Day Parade in Palm Bay<\/a><\/p>\n When: Saturday, Nov. 8 – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.<\/p>\n Where: Tony Rosa Community Center to Veterans Memorial Park<\/p>\n Details: Event celebrates the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and their families. The parade will begin at the Tony Rosa Community Center (1502 Port Malabar Blvd.) and travel east along Port Malabar Boulevard, concluding at Veterans Memorial Park. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the parade from any point along the route, with prime viewing areas available in front of Veterans Memorial Park.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Parade in Flagler County<\/a><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 – 10 a.m.<\/p>\n Where: Bunnell City Hall to Flagler County Courthouse<\/p>\n Details: The parade begins at Bunnell City Hall and ends at the Flagler County Courthouse. Ceremony takes place in front of the Flagler County Government Services Building at the end of the parade.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Ceremony in Sanford<\/a><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 – 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.<\/p>\n Where: Veterans Memorial Park<\/p>\n Details: Dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have served our nation, join us at Veterans Memorial Park on Nov. 11 as we pay tribute to their sacrifices and celebrate their unwavering commitment. Let us come together as a community to express our gratitude and respect for our veterans.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Ceremony in Ocoee<\/a><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n Where: Bill Breeze Park<\/p>\n Details: The event will feature a fire truck display and a ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Fireworks will light up the sky following the ceremony.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Tribute in Winter Springs<\/a><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, Nov. 11 – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n Where: Winter Springs Town Center<\/p>\n Details: The City of Winter Springs Veterans Day Tribute Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 6\u20137 p.m. at the Veterans and Military Services Memorial in the Winter Springs Town Center. We\u2019ll come together to recognize all veterans and celebrate our Hometown Hero.<\/p>\n Veterans Day Parade in Leesburg<\/a><\/p>\n When: Saturday, Nov. 8 – 11 a.m.<\/p>\n Where: Downtown Leesburg<\/p>\n Details: Enjoy a vibrant procession featuring marching bands, decorated floats, veteran organizations, and much more.<\/p>\n
