The study found that Tampa continues to offer a strong combination of economic opportunity and housing market stability despite ongoing challenges facing buyers nationwide. <\/p>\n
Researchers noted that first time homebuyers have been affected by elevated mortgage rates and rising home prices in recent years, making affordability an increasingly important factor when choosing where to purchase a home.<\/p>\n
Palm Bay earned the top overall ranking in the report, giving Florida two cities in the national top five. <\/p>\n
Orlando also appeared in the top 10, highlighting the state’s continued appeal for new homebuyers.<\/p>\n
According to the study, first time buyers represented about 21% of all home purchases last year, significantly below the historical average of approximately 40%. <\/p>\n
The report attributes the decline to higher borrowing costs, limited housing inventory and increased home prices across many parts of the country.<\/p>\n
Researchers said cities receiving the highest rankings generally provide a balance of affordable housing, healthy real estate markets and desirable living conditions. <\/p>\n
