The FBI is reportedly investigating unusual financial transactions involving the Argentine<\/a> soccer association, some of which are linked to a South Florida couple who bought $11 million worth of property in Miami-Dade County.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Argentine theater producer Javier Faroni and his wife, Erica Gillette, bought at least four properties in Sunny Isles Beach and Aventura<\/a> between 2022 and 2025 while a company they established routed millions of dollars in Argentine Football Association international revenue to other Miami-Dade firms, the Miami Herald reported<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The couple incorporated TourProdEnter in 2021, a firm that served as the soccer association\u2019s commercial agent and received money from international brand and sponsorship deals. The newspaper previously reported<\/a> that $40 million of AFA\u2019s revenue passed through TourProdEnter to other firms in Miami-Dade with no apparent business purpose. The receiving firms are likely shell companies, the outlet said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The four properties were purchased by LLCs that list Faroni and Gillette as executives, records show. It\u2019s unclear who the beneficial owners are, and the purchases appear to have been made in cash, since the publication found no record of mortgages or loans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Days before TourProdEnter\u2019s incorporation, the couple established Rentaltourenter LLC, which in March of 2022 paid $880,000 for a commercial space at the Aventura ParkSquare<\/a> business center at 2920 Northeast 207th Street. TourProdEnter used the space for offices until the firm moved out earlier this year, the newspaper found. The suite has not been sold, and an unrelated company specializing in private wealth management leased the space last month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In July of 2023, Gillette established Xilux Corp., which in November of the same year bought a $3.3 million residential condo at the Acqualina Resort & Residences On the Beach in Sunny Isles. The address for that condo is 17875 Collins Avenue, according to county records. Two weeks later, TourProdEnter sent $30,000 to Xilux.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2024, Gillette incorporated Xulix II, Corp., which bought a $6.9 million oceanfront condo in a building at 17749 Collins Avenue, next to Acqualina Resort & Residences. And TourProdEnter sent another $70,000 to Xilux, the newspaper said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In July of last year, Gillette established Only Five One LLC, which in September bought another condo in Sunny Isles for $575,000, the newspaper said. Records list the address as 16385 Biscayne Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Florida Secured Title was used in the three residential transactions, handling wire transfers of at least $6.9 million and was paid at least $57,000 by the LLCs, the outlet said.<\/p>\n

Federal authorities are investigating whether those fund transfers and others benefitted the AFA\u2019s top executives, including president Claudio Tapia and treasurer Pablo Toviggino. Tapia has been linked to several investigations<\/a> both in the U.S. and abroad regarding alleged tax fraud and money laundering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
