Florida Panthers equipment manager Thaddeus \u201cTeddy\u201d Richards was arrested on Friday and has been indefinitely suspended by the Panthers.<\/p>\n
Richards, 43, is facing two charges \u2014 touch or strike\/battery\/domestic violence and unauthorized use of 911 services \u2014 according to his case docket on the Broward County Clerk of Courts website Friday. Both are classified as misdemeanors.<\/p>\n
As of Friday evening, Richards was being held at the Broward Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n
The Panthers in a statement Friday<\/a> said they have been \u201cmade aware of an incident involving the arrest of Equipment Manager Teddy Richards\u201d and that Richards is suspended from all team activities and facilities \u201cpending investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n An arrest report was not publicly available as of early Friday evening.<\/p>\n Richards has been the Panthers\u2019 equipment manager since the 2016-17 season. He also served in that role for Team USA<\/a> at both the NHL\u2019s 4 Nations Face-Off tournament in February 2025 and the Winter Olympics this past February.<\/p>\n This story will be updated as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n
