TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Calling all food lovers, now is the perfect time to try that local spot you\u2019ve been wanting to check out!<\/p>\n

More than 25 local restaurants are participating in Tallahassee\u2019s first Restaurant Week. <\/p>\n

Leon County Division of Tourism\u2019s Visit Tallahassee, in partnership with Tallahassee Foodies, officially launched the event Friday. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe eat local, we drink local, and we are local,\u201d Bumpas Local 349 owner Eddie Agramonte said.<\/p>\n

From ahi tuna chopped salad to fried ribs, there\u2019s something for every plate. <\/p>\n

Agramonte hopes restaurant week will encourage neighbors to keep their dollar local while supporting Tallahassee\u2019s growing food scene. <\/p>\n

\u201cAny other local restaurants that do a fantastic job here in this community, we want them to patronize them as well and come out and try something that\u2019s off the beaten path for them. Don\u2019t just go to the chain,\u201d Agramonte said.<\/p>\n

The event kicked off on Friday with a cake cutting at Hayward House. <\/p>\n

J. H. Leale with Tallahassee Foodies said Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for people to try some local eateries. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great way to get people to come out and actually maybe explore and try some new places that they haven\u2019t tried before and get to some areas maybe where they wouldn\u2019t traditionally go to get them out of their comfort zone,\u201d Leale said. \u201cAnd with curated menu and some specials, it\u2019s just a fun opportunity, something fun to do this time of year.\u201d <\/p>\n

Kerri Post, Leon County Division of Tourism Director said this initiative is a step in the right direction for Tallahassee.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery great destination in the state of Florida and in the country has a restaurant week and no we do,\u201d Post said. \u201cThey are, indeed, motivators for travel, so that\u2019s why we\u2019re so excited about this inaugural event and to be one for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over at Deep Brewing Company, which is also participating in Restaurant Week, they\u2019re serving up more than just local craft beers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just an art to us,\u201d Justin Adams, head chef at Deep Brewing Co. said. \u201cWe want to make sure everyone\u2019s satisfied.\u201d<\/p>\n

From breakfast tacos, to catfish, to freshly made doughnuts, Adams helps create dishes that know no limits. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think something that we really like here at Deep is kind of exploring the different regions of food slash the different variations in food in general,\u201d Adams said. \u201cWe have an ever-changing menu. We change once a month over here.\u201d <\/p>\n

So, whether you\u2019re in the mood for something sweet or savory, the next ten days is an opportunity to try something new or head back to one of your favorite local spots.<\/p>\n

Tallahassee Restaurant Week runs from July 17 through July 26. Each participating restaurant has a pre-fixed menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner options depending on the place. <\/p>\n
