WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 A lawsuit that was attempting to kick Florida GOP Rep. Cory Mills off the ballot in the August primary was dismissed by a judge.<\/p>\n
Mills\u2019 rival Michael Johnson alleged in a lawsuit that Mills didn\u2019t qualify for the ballot, specifically citing concerns about paperwork and his signature, according to the Politico news outlet.<\/a><\/p>\n Florida recently passed a bill regarding signatures and proof of citizenship, but it won\u2019t take effect for a few months.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cUltimately the voters are entitled to choose as long as people meet the requirements of office,\u201d Circuit Court Judge J. Lee Marsh said in the hearing.<\/p>\n Mills\u2019 lawyers argued that the new law is about eligibility qualifications and not the process to make the ballot.<\/p>\n Mills was in the news for some controversy last year after his ex-girlfriend filed a police report that the congressman threatened to release nude photos and videos of herself after they broke up.<\/p>\n \u201cSince February 20th of 2025 Cory has contacted Lindsey numerous times on numerous different accounts threatening to release nude images and videos of her, to include recorded videos of her and Cory engaging in sexual acts,\u201d the police report reads.<\/a><\/p>\n He has denied the allegations and said he wouldn\u2019t resign from representing Florida\u2019s 7th Congressional District.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 A lawsuit that was attempting to kick Florida GOP Rep.
