Construction on the community started earlier this year. It was the first to be proposed under the Live Local Act in the County.<\/p>\n<p>Sarasota Station is set to comprise 202 affordable housing units, with floorplans ranging from studio to two-bedroom apartments. Interior finishings will include granite countertops and other modern finishings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessobserverfl.com\/news\/2026\/jan\/15\/sarasota-station-breaks-ground\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Business Observer<\/a> notes that residency is reserved for households earning 60 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). Sarasota County\u2019s median income is currently $83,003, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scgov.net\/government\/planning-and-development-services\/planning-and-zoning\/demographics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">county records<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-41147\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Screenshot-2026-07-17-at-10.59.12-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"673\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The venture will feature 202 units. Image by Suarez Architecture<\/p>\n<p>Future residents at Sarasota Station will have access to a host of on-site amenities, including but not limited to a dog park, basketball court, and clubhouse. There will also be a community center and easy access to the nearby Legacy Trail. Sarasota Station is estimated to cost $30 million to complete.<\/p>\n<p>Another unfolding project in Sarasota County is <a href=\"https:\/\/floridayimby.com\/2025\/10\/kolter-multifamily-breaks-ground-on-256-unit-garden-style-apartment-community-alton-sarasota.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alton Sarasota<\/a>, a project Florida YIMBY covered in October 2025. That project, a garden-style multi-family development, is slated to feature 256 residences.
