That\u2019s what happened to riders on Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a> on Saturday, when a power outage forced a mass evacuation of 70 guests.<\/p>\n

Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a> is a flying theater simulator in Universal Studios Florida<\/a>. Riders speed through a screen-projected New York City on a ride vehicle suspended one to two stories in the air.<\/p>\n

So imagine you\u2019re on a cart at least 10 to 15 feet in the air when suddenly, you\u2019re stuck. \u201cIt just jerked suddenly and then it was just this same message over and over again,\u201d a rider told WESH 2 News<\/a>. \u201cIt didn\u2019t feel like things were being communicated in a well manner, it was just the same thing over and over again, like, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re gonna get it fixed ASAP.\u2019 Eventually it was, \u2018Oh, the ride may continue at any moment,\u2019 and then it turned into, \u2018OK, we\u2019re just gonna get you guys out of there.’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Orlando Fire Department was called in Saturday afternoon to help riders off the vehicle, and a video of the ride evacuation quickly went viral online. Firefighters were filmed using harnesses, safety ropes, and ladders to help riders down to the ground level below.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a power outage affected parts of the resort today, the Orlando Fire Department assisted in helping guests to exit an attraction that was stopped due to the outage,\u201d Universal\u2019s statement on the ride evacuation read. They confirmed that about 70 riders on Race Through New York had to be evacuated due to the power outage early Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
