Universal Orlando<\/a>, like all theme parks, isn\u2019t immune to ride technical difficulties. Sometimes, it\u2019s just one ride that has issues, but on other occasions, though rarer, there are times when entire power outages<\/a> affect multiple parts of the park.<\/p>\n

Universal Orlando<\/p>\n

Yesterday, a power outage at Universal Orlando left about 70 riders stranded inside an attraction that many people wouldn\u2019t assume to be one that needs intense evacuation measures, but alas, harnesses, ladders, and safety ropes were needed to rescue the guests.<\/p>\n

Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon is a screen-based attraction located inside Universal Studios. It\u2019s not one of the most popular rides in the park, as many feel it\u2019s a little boring \u2014 you watch as Jimmy Fallon races through New York, and the large theater everyone sits in moves around to match what\u2019s happening on screen. 70 riders were on the attraction when it broke down due to a power outage that affected multiple parts of the park, according to WESH 2<\/a>. Riders were then evacuated off the attraction by firefighters using safety ropes, ladders, and harnesses.<\/p>\n

One of the guests on the ride was interviewed regarding the experience, saying that the ride jerked suddenly, and then Team Members began repeating the same message over and over. She continued, saying, \u201cIt didn\u2019t feel like things were being communicated in a well manner, it was just the same thing over and over again, like, \u2018Hey, we\u2019re gonna get it fixed ASAP.\u2019 Eventually it was, \u2018Oh, the ride may continue at any moment,\u2019 and then it turned into, \u2018OK, we\u2019re just gonna get you guys out of there.’\u201d<\/p>\n

No other rides were reported as needing to be evacuated with help from the fire department during the outage. It\u2019s important to note that there\u2019s no telling what rides or attractions will go down, and that it\u2019s possible on any of them that an unexpected issue could occur while riding.<\/p>\n
