{"id":345546,"date":"2026-07-19T22:24:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T22:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/345546\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T22:24:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T22:24:25","slug":"hot-this-week-tracking-tropical-depression-2-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/345546\/","title":{"rendered":"Hot This Week; Tracking Tropical Depression 2 &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy Sunday, South Florida!<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heat is the big story this upcoming week in Miami is the continuing its hot streak of 39 days in a row above 90 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/1_0f9356.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733695\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We may threaten the all-time record of 56 days in 2023 \u2014 with a seemingly endless streak of 90 degree days ahead. In fact, the heat will only worsen with highs trending into the mid-90s by the end of the week. The heat index will soar above 105 which means more advisories are likely coming.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/2_04b0b5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733696\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As far as the forecast goes, Monday looks drier with isolated storms staying mainly inland in the afternoon. Highs will be pretty close to average in the lower-90s with the heat index once again climbing into the triple digits. It stays hot and dry with below-average rain chances continuing throughout the week. There\u2019s some signs that an upper disturbance could bring some higher rain chances by the weekend but it\u2019s too early to speculate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/3_95c654.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733697\"  \/>TROPICAL UPDATE:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tropical Depression Two formed in the Gulf of America this morning. As of the 5pm Advisory it packs winds of 30 MPH and is stationary. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/6_12f77a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733699\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A tropical storm watch is in effect from the Florida Panhandle to the Alabama\/Florida border. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/8_b73fbb.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733700\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking at it on satellite, it is a fairly large system with rain bands extending from South Florida to the Louisiana\/Mississippi border. TD2 is currently fighting some dry air and northerly wind shear. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/7_a33b2f.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1733701\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shear is expected to lessen a bit over the next few days which will allow for some strengthening into Tropical Storm Bertha. A slow westward track paralleling the northern Gulf Coast is expected \u2014 with a landfall in Louisiana or Texas forecasted later this week.
