{"id":345556,"date":"2026-07-19T22:42:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-19T22:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/345556\/"},"modified":"2026-07-19T22:42:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-19T22:42:08","slug":"miami-police-lieutenant-suspended-relieved-of-duty-after-arrest-for-dui-wsvn-7news-miami-news-weather-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/345556\/","title":{"rendered":"Miami Police lieutenant suspended, relieved of duty after arrest for DUI &#8211; WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MIAMI (WSVN) &#8211; A City of Miami police officer is accused of being on the wrong side of the law for the second time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miami police confirmed Lieutenant Thomas Carroll was arrested for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7News reached out to Miami Police for details of the arrest and is waiting for more information, but jail records show Carroll has already posted bond. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 47-year-old has been suspended and relieved of duty until an internal affairs investigation is completed<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In<a href=\"https:\/\/wsvn.com\/news\/local\/miami-dade\/miami-police-lieutenant-relieved-of-duty-after-domestic-violence-arrest-47-year-old-accused-of-slapping-and-spitting-on-wife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> December 2024, Carroll was relieved of duty after his arrest<\/a> on a domestic violence charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He declined to speak to reporters when he bonded out of jail after his wife alleged the former assistant chief of police spit on and slapped her.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Sunbeam Television Corp.
