NORTH AUGUSTA, SC. (WRDW\/WAGT) – As has been the tradition for the last 30 years, a new Peach Jam champion has been crowned.<\/p>\n
Sunday morning, the Florida Rebels defeated Drive Nation 81-70 to win the program\u2019s first 17U Peach Jam championship.<\/p>\n
Leading the way was tournament MVP Cayden Daughtry of the Florida Rebels, one of the nation\u2019s top-10 recruits.<\/p>\n
Daughtry\u2019s dominance throughout the tournament was evident well before the championship game. He was presented with the tournament MVP trophy Saturday night ahead of the Florida Rebels\u2019 semifinal matchup against Team Herro.<\/p>\n
In Sunday\u2019s title game, Daughtry finished with 33 points, nine rebounds and six assists.<\/p>\n
He led all players in the tournament in scoring at 32.3 points per game and ranked third in assists at 6.1 per game.<\/p>\n
Sharing the same court as Daughtry was Grovetown native MJ Curry.<\/p>\n
Before the start of the 2025 season, Curry transferred from Grovetown High School to Grayson High School in Loganville, GA. <\/p>\n
Sunday, he finished with six points and two rebounds, but his defensive impact was the biggest force.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like being able to stop the best player from scoring in times where needed, being able to score consistently, and really just bringing energy to the team, and being where I needed to be,\u201d said Curry.<\/p>\n
Curry is the first player from the CSRA to win any level of Peach Jam Championship since 2021.<\/p>\n
The last batch to win was Thomson\u2019s Lavonta Ivery and Jahkiaus Jones, and Augusta Christian\u2019s Elijah Crawford. All three played for Skill Factory and won the 16U Peach Jam Championship.<\/p>\n
He is also the first player from the CSRA to win the 17U Peach Jam Championship.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing at the place I\u2019ve always been at, I\u2019ve been seeing this stuff since I can remember, if I\u2019m being honest. Being able to end out my AAU career here is great,\u201d said Curry.<\/p>\n
The 2026 Florida Rebels squad will go down as one of the greatest teams to ever go through the Nike EYBL circuit.<\/p>\n
They close their storybook ending in North Augusta with a 7-1 overall record and a championship that will never be forgott<\/p>\n
