Jacksonville police have identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by two vehicles earlier this month as investigators continue searching for the driver who left the scene.<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Police Department said officers responded around 12:27 a.m. July 10 to a crash at the intersection of Western Boulevard, also known as N.C. 53, and Gateway Drive South.<\/a><\/p>\n

Investigators said 30-year-old Quentin Antonio Aguirre of Yorktown, Indiana, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a Jeep Wrangler.<\/p>\n

Police said the Jeep’s driver, Christina Geffre of Richlands, stopped to render aid. While she was assisting, Aguirre was struck by a second vehicle.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, the second driver did not stop at the scene. Police said the vehicle was reported to be pulling an enclosed U-Haul trailer.<\/p>\n

Aguirre was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.<\/p>\n

The Jacksonville Police Department continues to ask for the public’s help identifying the second vehicle and its driver.<\/p>\n
