The Florida Sheriffs’ Association Criminal Apprehension Assistance Program has partnered with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers to offer a reward for information that leads to the location and capture of Isabelle Johnson, 38, who is wanted on an open count of murder in the death of Jason Christopher Coulthart, 43. Coulthart was reported missing to the Niceville Police Department on May 24, 2026, after he was last seen leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, detectives with the Niceville Police Department developed information during their missing person investigation identifying a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport where Coulthart’s body had allegedly been buried. Niceville police notified the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, which has jurisdiction over the property.<\/p>\n
A search warrant was approved by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau on June 25. Investigators later discovered human remains buried in a shallow grave on the property. The District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assist with the investigation, and DNA testing later confirmed the remains belonged to Coulthart.<\/p>\n
“This is not the news we hoped to deliver to our Niceville community,” Niceville Police Chief Mark Hayse said after the identification was confirmed. “We stand with Jason’s family and will continue working closely with our partners to see this case through.”<\/p>\n
The investigation’s first arrest came shortly after the remains were discovered. Bobbi Wagstaff, 31, of Sunset Lane, was arrested and charged with accessory to capital murder after the fact and possession of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
Since the investigation began, five people have been arrested in connection with the case.<\/p>\n

The most recent arrests came July 10, when deputies charged Michael Ray White, 74, and Kathleen Morris, 59, of Santa Rosa Beach<\/a>, with accessory to a capital felony after the fact and obstruction. Investigators said the pair helped Johnson evade capture by providing shelter, transportation and supplies while misleading deputies about her whereabouts.<\/p>\n Earlier, Martin and Sandra Leaverton, both 63, of Fort Walton Beach<\/a>, were charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder after authorities alleged they retrieved Johnson’s belongings, supplied her with a cellphone and attempted to help her find refuge outside Florida.
