There’s actually some good news there, you know, I totally understand everyone in the panhandle moving through the rest of the Gulf. They will see tropical storm force winds, risk for storm surge and flooding, but we over the past 72 hours have seen some of those outer bands here across Central Florida, Sonica. So let’s talk about the latest. The 11 a.m. update came out and I could tell you that winds have most likely peaked with Tropical Storm Bertha 60 MPH, and as it continues to encounter *** much drier air to the north and to the west, it’s slowly going to be moving at 3 MPH, and central pressure is about 995 millibars. So that’s about the strength we are going to see as it continues to encounter land. We are going to see it weaken. Let’s bring you. That timeline already by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow it’s going to be weakening to about 50 MPH and then as it moves further to the north and the west, *** lot of our models are bringing it to the largest impacts towards the coast of Alabama and then moving in towards towards New Orleans and then into areas south of Louisiana as we head into Wednesday afternoon into the evening hours. Then it continues to weaken because, you know, land brings wind shear and the. Sheer within the environment weakening the storm, then it’s going to continue to move towards the coast of Texas before completely dissipating. So heavy rainfall and winds are going to be the biggest concern as it continues to turn in the Gulf. So we’re looking at areas of Mobile, Alabama moving in towards New Orleans to see anything from the tropical storm warnings and then tropical storm watches extend *** little further west. So as that storm. Continues to move west, we’ll see *** lot of these watches become warnings. So here for here across Central Florida, we are still seeing *** couple showers and storms, but much less coverage compared to yesterday. We’re actually completely drying out by the time we basically head into tomorrow. Rain hits today will be the highest west of I-75, and as we take *** look at your certified most accurate 7 day forecast across the Sunshine State, that kind of comes. Into an end as we head into your Wednesday. By Thursday we begin to see that traditional sea breeze set up with our showers and storms returning as high pressure moves over us, and then eventually we’ll see that more stormy pattern, only 30 to 40% chance of showers and storms as we head through the next couple of days. So not widespread, but certainly could see *** couple stronger cells throughout the next couple of days. So satellite and radar has just *** little bit of activity. To the west of I-75, but we are going to continue with *** couple of degrees with our temperatures are going to be the biggest concern. We’ll take *** look at this afternoon, mid to upper 90s in many locations as we take *** look at the future cast. You are going to be seeing those showers and storms there, especially if you are going to be west of the city. Beautiful certified most accurate 7 day forecast. We’ll be back on the other side of this break.

Less showers and storms as Central Florida dries out| Video: July 21st

Track the forecast for this afternoon with meteorologist Victoria Wisniewski

 Updated: 1:28 PM EDT Jul 21, 2026

 Editorial Standards ⓘ

Less showers and storms as Central Florida dries out| Video: July 21st Track the forecast for this afternoon…

[6
8493,147,73007,28,30,29,508,142209,139118,139420,4503,10189
post-347635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-florida","tag-afternoon","tag-central-florida","tag-editorial-standards","tag-florida","tag-florida-headlines","tag-florida-news","tag-forecast","tag-less-shower","tag-meteorologist-victoria-wisniewski","tag-pm-edt-jul","tag-storm","tag-track
["GET
