Some closures have been announced in Northwest Florida as officials monitor Tropical Storm Bertha. <\/p>\n
Out of caution, the Navarre Park Splash Pad and Navarre Beach Pier are closed for the rest of the day. <\/p>\n
It’s expected that the splash pad will reopen Wednesday. <\/p>\n
Pier conditions will be assessed on Wednesday. Santa Rosa County will notify the public if it remains closed.<\/p>\n
After some wind damage at Azalea Park in Mary Esther, it’s also been closed. The City of Mary Esther shared down trees and large limbs at the park.<\/p>\n
The Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier is also among those closures.<\/p>\n
“The decision was made because of high waves and strong wind gusts,” said Mike Pinzone, who owns Papa’s Pizza and manages the Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier. “The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority.”<\/p>\n
Bands on the Beach for Tuesday night joins the list of closures, too. <\/p>\n
Organizers shared the following statement:<\/p>\n
Out of an abundance of caution due to Tropical Storm Bertha, we’ve made the decision to cancel tonight’s show. Your safety is always our top priority, so please stay safe, keep an eye on the weather, and take care of one another.
