{"id":348151,"date":"2026-07-22T03:40:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T03:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/348151\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T03:40:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T03:40:13","slug":"northwest-florida-closures-announced-as-tropical-storm-bertha-preparations-are-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/348151\/","title":{"rendered":"Northwest Florida closures announced as Tropical Storm Bertha preparations are underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some closures have been announced in Northwest Florida as officials monitor Tropical Storm Bertha.  <\/p>\n<p>Out of caution, the Navarre Park Splash Pad and Navarre Beach Pier are closed for the rest of the day. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s expected that the splash pad will reopen Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Pier conditions will be assessed on Wednesday. Santa Rosa County will notify the public if it remains closed.<\/p>\n<p>After some wind damage at Azalea Park in Mary Esther, it&#8217;s also been closed. The City of Mary Esther shared down trees and large limbs at the park.<\/p>\n<p>The Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier is also among those closures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision was made because of high waves and strong wind gusts,&#8221; said Mike Pinzone, who owns Papa&#8217;s Pizza and manages the Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier. &#8220;The safety of our customers and employees is our top priority.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bands on the Beach for Tuesday night joins the list of closures, too. <\/p>\n<p>Organizers shared the following statement:<\/p>\n<p>Out of an abundance of caution due to Tropical Storm Bertha, we&#8217;ve made the decision to cancel tonight&#8217;s show. Your safety is always our top priority, so please stay safe, keep an eye on the weather, and take care of one another.
